Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Supply Chain Operations Procurement Manager (Level K) to join our Seats Supply Chain Operations Dock-to-Delivery team in Charleston South Carolina.

The Seats Operations Dock to Delivery team is growing and looking for supply chain leaders to support our Airplane delivery targets. This team proactively identifies and mitigates risks associated with transportation installation storage and rework of seats. The fast-paced nature of the airplane delivery environment requires rapid decision making clear communication and the ability to continuously provide solutions without compromising quality and safety standards. The statement of work includes standard Procurement and Supply Chain Management functions data analysis forecasting supply and/or demand troubleshooting and additional duties as assigned.

The manager will be a Boeing leader to our suppliersinterfacing both externally and internally with our factories Engineering Quality and many other stakeholders domestically and internationally. In addition this individual will regularly contribute to the development of new job practices techniques and standards; ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives and will perform work with minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

As a Seats Dock-to-Delivery Manager based at the Charleston site the individual performing this role is expected to lead a team of procurement agents who will provide immediate support to program and stakeholders when seat related issues arise and deploy risk mitigation strategies to prevent issues from arising.

Position responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of highly motivated seats procurement agents
  • Prepares and delivers critical presentations to support supply chain leadership to enable decisions strategies and oversight
  • Build and develop an empowered team through coaching and mentoring and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
  • Inspire a culture that creates an environment where diverse high-performing proactive and engaged team members can excel and flourish.
  • Champion a culture of communication that conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup project or process goals. Employ Seek Speak & Listen (SS&L) to actively communicate and engage with employees peers customers and stakeholders keep others informed.
  • Builds trust across organizations and communicates effectively to develop partnerships with key stakeholders customers and leadership
  • Protect near term seat installation certification/conformity and delivery milestones through partnering with applicable functions to drive issue resolution
  • Partner with vendor assist team for AP walks as needed to review condition of seats and escalate issues regarding seat protection and damage part requirements
  • Coordinates and acts as an advisor during delivery commitments / supplier commitments by partnering with contracts supplier and customer engineering
  • Represent the seats integration team at Tier 23 meetings and communicate top priorities back to D2D and SIT organization
  • Lead monthly meeting with internal stakeholders at delivery sites for communicating needs
  • Drive Quality Improvement Initiative by overseeing data from seats inspections is shared with supplier for root-cause-corrective action
  • Drive critical part shortages mitigation strategies when non-supporting ECDs
  • Represent SIT at airline customer meetings as needed (factory delivery)
  • Support BSC led initiatives involving seats (BPSM process improvements)
  • Provide information to IPTs regarding damage or problems encountered with seats in production (beyond routine items)
  • Work closely with Business Operations and IE on scenario planning involving seats (rate out of sequence/travelled offsite work)
  • Engage with production on product protection measures and support production customer with information as needed
  • Support supplier contracted seat installations and ensure engagement from all stakeholders (SIT operations contracts etc.)
  • Provide production/milestone status to SIT IPTs (seat installation cert customer activities)
  • Ensure BSC stakeholders are aware of engineering changes and quality escapements affecting seats in transit or delivered
  • Support IPTs with supplier and parts related issues for each airplane during production through delivery (POA/SOA/Letters of Commitment)
  • Coordinate and partner with on-site supplier support teams concerning rework of seats
  • Coordinate and host Boeing and seat supplier visits and engage appropriate levels of BSC leadership
  • Support program initiatives (ie. site-consolidation storage product protection safety stock).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Management or Program Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in roles such as team lead site lead project manager or manager.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience working with suppliers and managing a supply base in a dynamic environment with a focus on data deliverables and performance management.
  • Strong background in data analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • 3 years of experience interfacing with executive-level leadership
  • 5 years of experience working with suppliers

This position is for 1st shift typical work hours are from 7:00pm 3:30pm Monday through Friday but subject to change based on the hiring teams discretion. Flexibility for on-call weekend/evening support is required based on critical business needs.
