Who You Are
As a Senior Staff Accountant you will be a key member of our record to report team responsible for performing period-end close functions including preparing journal entries account reconciliations and monthly quarterly and annual financial statements. In addition you will be responsible for technical accounting areas such as accounts receivable stock based compensation corporate allocations leases and equity. As the Company grows this role will partner with the Accounting Manager and Controller to develop and improve the Companys controls policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform month-end closing activities including journal entries account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support the annual audit process including liaising with external auditors and providing audit requests for documentation
- Accounts Receivable: collaborate effectively with the sales operations team providing essential financial and tax-related support throughout the sales cycle including quotations sales order confirmations and invoicing
- Reconcile cash receipts from customers with bank statements on a monthly basis
- Develop and document business processes and accounting procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Prepare financial reports for monthly and quarterly meetings with management and the companys Board of Directors
- Prepare technical accounting memos to document research and application to Sila
- Support and assist junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills
- Perform other job related duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience including a combination of public accounting and shown experience in a large multinational manufacturing company
- CPA highly preferred
- Extensive experience with technical accounting research and GAAP reporting
- Experience with mid to large-scale ERP systems preferred in a manufacturing environment (Sage X3Coupa)
- Proficient with Google Apps (Gmail Docs Sheets)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Operate a computer and other office equipment such as a laptop copier/printer etc in a fixed location
Full-Time Exempt
The starting base pay for this role is between $105000 and $124000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors such as education experience and skills. Base pay is only one part of Silas competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits perks equity and bonuses.
