Head of Sales UK Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE)

Location: Remote. (Head Office - County Durham UK)

Reports to: Managing Director Husqvarna UK

Travel: Required (50%) both domestically and internationally (occasional).

Position Overview

Husqvarna UK is seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Director to lead the sales and network development of our Forest and Garden division. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth expanding our dealer and retail network and strengthening Husqvarnas market leadership in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy
    • Develop and execute the UK sales and distribution strategy for the Forest & Garden division in alignment with the BU Europe and Husqvarna Strategy 2030 objectives.
    • Actively driving the sales plan for the UK to meet the company targets regarding channel expansion market share development revenue growth and profitability.
    • Develop the organisation structure in line with strategic priorities and resource needs whilst maintaining agility and operational excellence within budget.
    • Lead coach and inspire a high-performing sales team to exceed targets and key KPIs.
    • Business intelligence. Monitor market trends and be the expert on competitor activity and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.

  • Channel & Network Development
    • Expand and optimise the dealer and retail network across the UK. Including development of the distributor business in Northern Ireland.
    • Responsible for the implementation and execution of the Husqvarna Home Service (HHS) channel development including day-to-day support to the Husqvarna-owned dealer Autocut Ltd.
    • Build strong long-term relationships with key partners distributors and retail accounts.
    • Implement programs to enhance dealer performance loyalty and brand representation.
    • Support channel partners in the implementation of the local marketing and communication strategy.

  • Business Development
    • Identify and maximise new business opportunities including sales channels emerging market segments and product innovations.
    • Collaborate within the UK EU Region and Central support teams (business development marketing product management aftersales supply chain business controlling customer service and operational teams).
  • Support new product launches and the achievement of related sales targets.
  • Manage the implementation and adherence to the selective distribution and trade term conditions.

  • Financial & Operational Management
    • Own the sales budget forecasting order intake and reporting processes.
    • Ensure maximum profitability through effective pricing margin management cost and inventory control.
    • Drive operational excellence through process improvements and development of digital tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior sales leadership role. Preferably within the outdoor power equipment power tools or machinery sectors but not essential.
  • Strong experience in dealer network development and channel management.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Inspirational leader with a hands-on approach and a passion for customer experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Sales or related field.
