The Emergency Management Coordinator II under general supervision plans develops implements and maintains a comprehensive emergency management program. Directs coordinates and operates operations center.
Responsibilities:
Reviews develops and implements policies and procedures related to emergency preparedness to ensure compliance with Federal State and local laws and regulations.
Facilitates the emergency management program promoting the mitigation of preparedness for response to and recovery from all hazards.
Plans and coordinates emergency planning and disaster response exercises to prepare staff to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies at campuses and remain compliant with applicable laws.
Coordinates after-action reviews and assists in the development of action plans and timelines for accomplishing outstanding tasks.
Attends emergency preparedness meetings with local regional State and Federal level agencies as a representative and reports outcomes decisions and recommendations to administration and appropriate committees.
Coordinates and assembles emergency planning committees schedules and attends meetings and delivers training as needed.
Develops educational materials for circulation to the campuses and community regarding emergency preparedness.
Conducts presentations and provides instruction.
Monitors emergency situations that may have an impact and provides recommendations to administration on the appropriate response actions.
Conducts site inspections and collects various documentation related to hazard mitigation projects and initiatives.
Provides annual reviews and updates reference manuals.
Investigates researches and makes recommendations regarding best practices in emergency preparedness and disaster response.
Plan assign and supervise the work of others.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or higher in related field.
Five (5) years of related experience.
