Summary:
Jewelers Mutual is seeking aSenior React Native Engineerto play a pivotal role in building the next generation of our consumer mobile platform. This role is ideal for someone with deep React Native expertise and a proven track record of delivering high-quality**direct-to-consumer mobile applications**. Your primary focus will be leading the technical development of scalable secure and user-friendly React Native apps that power our consumer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Consumer Mobile Experience:Architect build and maintain React Native mobile applications that deliver intuitive performant and reliable experiences for end users.
- Be the React Native Specialist: Set the technical direction for mobile development architecture performance and state management. Serve as the teams trusted expert for React Native.
- Deliver Consumer-Grade Products:Build mobile apps that meet the high expectations of todays direct-to-consumer markets polished design responsive performance and rock-solid stability.
- Champion Mobile-First Engineering Excellence: Influence technical direction with an emphasis on mobile usability performance and scalability while collaborating across the stack as needed.
- Collaborate in a Triad Model: Partner with Product Management and Product Design to translate business goals and user insights into engaging mobile experiences.
- Integrate with APIs for Mobile: Implement secure efficient and scalable API integrations optimized for mobile environments including offline functionality and real-time updates.
- Mentor and Grow Mobile Expertise: Coach engineers on advanced React Native practices and mobile development helping the team continuously elevate their skills.
- Stay at the Forefront of Mobile Development:Continuously adopt modern libraries tools and techniques from the React Native ecosystem to ensure our mobile apps remain best-in-class.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional software engineering experience with3 years building production React Native mobile applications.
- Demonstrated success in developingdirect-to-consumer mobile apps with real-world experience bringing polished high-performance apps to market.
- Deep expertise in React Native including advanced navigation native module development performance tuning and mobile debugging.
- Proficiency in JavaScript TypeScript and mobile architecture patterns.
- Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles performance optimization and delivering responsive reliable applications.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modern state management (e.g. Redux Zustand Recoil Context API).
- Familiarity with React Native performance profiling tools (e.g. Flipper Reanimated Hermes).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for mobile apps.
- Knowledge of mobile-specific challenges like offline support battery optimization and device compatibility.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms and secure scalable API integrations.
