Calling all Nursing Leaders with hands on OR experience and strong leadership skills! If you love leading and the opportunity to jump in to provide direct patient care join our team at The Center for Specialized Surgery - Gold Coast as Charge Nurse. Note: Previous OR and leadership experience in an ASC environment is required.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Charge RN is responsible for contributing to clinical staffing administrative and supervisory duties operations of the Surgery Center. This includes but is not limited to staff oversight and assignments patient flow coordination clinical leadership problem solving and communication regulatory and safety compliance working with other departments mentoring and team support.
EDUCATION and/ or Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Previous OR and Charge experience in an ASC environment is required
- Ortho and PACU Experience a plus!
- Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
The main function of the Charge Nurse is that of leadership and promotion of cooperative staff effort. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions in daily operations.
Areas of accountability of the Director of Nursing are outlined as follows:
- Monitor day-to-day internal flow and physician relationships
- Assist in Pre-Op PACU and O.R.
- Coordination of activity within the O.R. suite.
- Maintain adherence to operating policy/procedure manuals
- Monitor daily staffing of employees and assignments.
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients co workers and other health team members.
