We are currently in search of a Creative Content Writer to join our Marketing & Creative team! The Creative Content Writer works in close partnership and under the direction and guidance of the Sr. Creative Content Manager and plays a crucial role in generating unique clear relevant and engaging content to support a wide array of marketing communications PR fundraising development and other initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities include creating marketing copy for collateral materials advertisements newsletters editorials white papers annual reports correspondence speeches presentations sales collateral fundraising materials proposals and various internal and external communications. This position involves working across multiple communication channelsprimarily print but also online and videoto target a diverse range of audiences. The Creative Content Writer will collaborate cross-departmentally within Feed the Children and with external partner agencies to ensure cohesive and impactful storytelling. Storytelling is central to this role requiring the ability to craft compelling narratives that not only inform but also inspire and engage driving the mission of Feed the Children forward.
NOTE: This position will work a hybrid schedule from our corporate office in Oklahoma City OK.
Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelors degree with emphasis in English Journalism Communications Advertising Marketing or Professional Writing preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
3 years of experience in content development copywriting and copy-editing within marketing advertising promotion or publishing sectors required
1 year of experience developing concepts and copy for diverse audiences and purposes with a preference for experience in nonprofit fundraising organizations required
Proven experience in editing and proofreading communications at digital publications advertising agencies or in-house creative environments.
Excellent command of concept development and copywriting across traditional media and digital platforms.
Proven experience as a creative thinker adept at generating innovative ideas tailored to specific audiences.
Strong conceptual skills with an understanding of how copy interacts with art design graphics and typography.
Exceptional command of the English language and grammar with the ability to adjust writing styles voice and tone for various audiences and mediums.
Solid grounding in U.S. English style usage grammar and punctuation and familiarity with standard style guides including the AP Stylebook.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment handling sensitive information professionally and reliably.
Outstanding communication and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Any combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.
Essential Functions:
Content Creation:Develop compelling and engaging content for various platforms including donor-engagement materials newsletters marketing materials digital media and fundraising campaigns. Ensure content is appropriate for the purpose audience and channel as well as consistent with the organizations brand style and identity guidelines.
Storytelling:Craft narratives that highlight the nonprofits mission showcase its work and tell impactful stories. Interview individuals as needed to capture these stories.
Research:Conduct thorough research to gather information and ensure content accuracy and relevance. Stay current on marketing and communications trends to maintain subject matter expertise.
Editing and Proofreading:Review and refine content to ensure clarity structure and error-free publication. Maintain high standards for writing quality and content accuracy.
Collaboration:Participate in idea and creative-content generation discussions. Work collaboratively across departments within Feed the Children and with external partner agencies to ensure cohesive and effective content.
Time Management:Complete work within required timelines managing multiple and sometimes competing priorities with tight deadlines.
Fundraising Support:Write fundraising materials including grant proposals donor letters campaign content and reports.
Executive Communications: Write letters email and other communications on behalf of the CEO and other executives as directed.
Event Coverage:Travel as required to attend relevant Feed the Children campaigns and organizational events to capture stories and create content that promotes the organizations activities.
Establish an environment of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning a commitment to quality welcomes and encourages collaboration and fosters both intra and inter-departmental dialogue and respect.
Model the type and level of behavior professionalism and leadership that is in accordance with the values of the organization.
