ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Supervisor Events Management and Customer Support Services this position provides support to internal and external clients in the operation of audio-visual systems and equipment used for corporate events meetings and presentations at the Regional Municipality of York.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
Assists with audio visual set up and support for corporate events corporate meetings and presentations.
Delivers carries and sets up audio visual systems for meetings and presentations in off site venues.
Provides training and guidance to Regional staff and to external customers on setting up and using regional audio visual equipment for meetings corporate events and presentations.
Provides assistance to the Supervisor Special Events and Customer Support Services in the implementation of corporate events as it relates to audio visual systems and equipment.
Maintains inventory of audio visual equipment in storage rooms.
Maintains inventory of equipment on loan and follows up for the return of loaned equipment.
Maintains paper and electronic records of audio visual equipment and supplies.
Provides periodic testing of audio visual equipment and supplies to ensure that it is maintained in operational condition.
Co-ordinates the repair of equipment with external suppliers.
Liaises with internal and external staff outside agencies contractors and the public on projects and provides technical support as directed.
Participates on committees task forces and work groups as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Secondary School Graduation Diploma and Audio Visual Technology Certificate from a Community College or Technical Institute and 2 years experience providing technical support on a wide variety of audio visual equipment or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Ontario Class G license in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
Extensive knowledge of audio visual systems current trends and emerging technologies
Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications and reservations software.
Demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service communication teamwork initiative self-management accountability conflict management and flexibility/adaptability.
Demonstrated ability to work independently maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to withstand long periods of walking standing and frequent bending and twisting.
Ability to work outside business hours regularly as required.
