To keep our operations network secure and assure operational continuity we are looking for an experienced risk professional to transform our approach to risk and operate at the forefront of the latest technical solutions towards risk mitigation. In this key role you will work alongside a team of risk management professionals who identify and manage global risks to our people operations and assets.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive global risk assessments and security standards by analyzing operational threats enhancing risk management processes and implementing consistent frameworks across all business lines.
- Utilize advanced GIS techniques to visualize analyze and predict emerging risks partnering with global teams to develop standardized mitigation strategies.
- Deploy state-of-the-art security technologies to manage risks across our global portfolio
- Optimize threat intelligence delivery through GIS-driven standardization and automation creating dynamic location-based risk visualizations.
- Manage team workflow balancing stakeholder expectations with resource requirements
- Develop Global Security Policies and contribute to the evolution of the security risk framework
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance security planning and response capabilities
A day in the life
The Risk Manager is a member of a team of professionals providing high-level strategic and tactical intelligence products to global stakeholders within Amazon. World Wide Amazon Stores (WWAS) operate in highly diversified and complex environments which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement models cultures languages criminality levels and national political social and security complexities. The Risk Manager works to support and sustain long term programs and initiatives and can be called upon to support dynamic risk identification and reporting during changing operating risk environments. Enabling action through regional teams and partners influencing adoption and capability continuous improvement with regional flexibility and scale.
About the team
The Global Threat Evaluation & Risk Assessment (TERA) team provides Worldwide Amazon Stores stakeholders ample advanced warning time to mitigate risks with the potential of threatening Amazon life-safety operations and brand reputation. Global TERA shares valuable insight into existing and emerging threat and risk landscapes discovered through open source research and internal/external data. Global TERA is comprised of Risk Analysts and Risk Managers with expertise in various aspects of strategic and tactical analysis to include indicator discovery trend analysis and data contextualization. The team partners with other Risk & Resilience teams across the globe to provide the highest clarity possible.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 4 years of compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent experience
- Experience handling confidential information
- 3 years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
