Job Description

The Senior Small Business Relationship Manager (RM) will serve as a vital liaison between City First Bank and the local small business community. This relationship-driven professional will partner with retail branches to generate referrals and deliver comprehensive banking solutions to businesses with up to $5 million in revenue. This role will be responsible for driving deposit growth originating loans and supporting financial literacy efforts. This role will be responsible for strengthening the presence in either the Los Angeles or Washington DC markets the Senior Small Business RM will be committed to strengthening community ties and supporting the growth and success of local businesses.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with branch teams to identify cultivate and convert small business referrals serving as a trusted advisor to small business clients building long-term consultative relationships and cultivating deeper Centers of Influence (COI) and strategic community partnerships.
  • Proactively source new business relationships through community engagement events and networking.
  • Delivering business banking solutions (deposits treasury and lending) tailored to more complex businesses closer to $5M in revenue; may include multiple entity structures or layered financing with up to $5MM in revenue.
  • Originate loans within the $250K$2MM credit range in alignment with the banks credit policies and risk appetite as larger deal sizes may help bridge to Commercial Banking
  • Collaborate with credit underwriting and operations to guide loans from inquiry to close.
  • Represent City First Bank in the community building visibility and trust with small businesses churches local chambers and nonprofits.
  • Deliver or co-host financial literacy workshops and outreach in collaboration with branch leadership.
  • Advises on local market strategy and contributes insights that inform segment growth community engagement and client acquisition planning.
  • Act as a connector to internal partners (e.g. commercial banking CRA marketing) to support holistic client needs.
  • Recognized as a developmental bridge role to Commercial RM or Commercial Banking Executive demonstrating leadership strategic thinking and a readiness for broader scope.
  • Track and manage pipeline and production goals aligned with organizational targets.
Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of business banking retail banking or small business relationship management experience.
  • Advanced credit training required with significant experience evaluating complex financial statements cash flow analysis and structuring multi-layered credit solutions.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Proven ability to grow deposits and generate new loan production.
  • Strong understanding of credit fundamentals and lending processes applying credit policy working closely with underwriters to structure and recommend small business loan requests.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and converting small business relationships.
  • Deep community roots and a passion for impact-driven work.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial literacy community engagement and working with faith-based organizations or nonprofits is highly desirable.
Salary Description
$115000.00 to $145000.00
