Job Description
St. Paul Academy and Summit School is currently seeking applicants for a part-time (.20 FTE) position of Middle School Spanish Teacher beginning in August 2025.
Position Begins: August 2025
Status: Part-time Exempt
Department: Instructional Faculty Middle School
Salary: $12000 a year
Position Description:
This position is a year-long temporary position teaching one section of Middle School Spanish. We seek applicants who are fluent in Spanish and have the capability and desire to teach the language at novice-intermediate levels.
Applicants should have a bachelors or higher degree in Spanish although applicants with a degree in a different field but with extensive experience speaking Spanish will also be considered.
As importantly we seek candidates who have demonstrated success in working with young people and who will approach their role in the division with a drive to better understand the emotional needs of their students and support a program where self-reflection empathy and flexibility are valued.
Requirements:
Successful candidates should possess the ability to teach Level I and II Spanish language in the Middle School. Candidates must be fluent in English both spoken and written. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and the vision of the Middle School.
BA degree required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Candidates should support the mission of SPA the vision of the Middle School and be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Candidates should possess effective cross-cultural communication skills and be ble to operate effectively in diverse environments and interact successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds in a friendly and professional manner.
