Job Description

Structural Analysis Engineer (Entry Level & Associate)

The Boeing Company is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Entry-Level & Associate) to support Boeing Global Services in Oklahoma City OK.

The Boeing Oklahoma City Derivative Aircraft Structural Integrity Analysis group performs Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) support and Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis for multiple Boeing commercial derivative military aircraft platforms including KC-135 (USAF and Foreign Military Sales) RC-135 E-4B E-6 E-7 (UK Australia Korea Turkey) and KC-767.

The groups in-depth technical background in durability damage tolerance stress analysis and military usage are leveraged to increase operational safety and availability while reducing customer costs. The team develops maintains and deploys sophisticated Individual Aircraft Tracking (IAT) programs to help determine airworthiness and sustainment of the aircraft. Sophisticated analysis software programs are created and employed to lead special studies such as fatigue and damage tolerance analyses based on aircraft mission profiles life extension programs for aging aircraft and corrosion impact studies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment characteristics and performance. Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment characteristics and performance.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • The right candidate will perform basic structural analysis tasks using well defined analysis tools to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications in the operational environment.
  • The candidate will assist and participate in various team projects working with peers program managers regulatory agencies and operational users.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the products environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
  • Experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment
  • Experience working collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams
  • Experience with structural analysis tools and methods
  • Experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
  • Experience writing technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college university technical school licensing/certification programs etc.) (Associate)
  • Experience performing Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis for Aircraft
  • Experience executing Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP)
  • Experience performing stress thermal fatigue fastener and tolerance analysis using analysis software and manual hand calculations
  • Experience with Finite Element Modeling
