As part of our Manufacturing team youll help build the world-class state-of-the-art smart vehicles were known for. TheMaterial Flow Engineering (MFE) Manager is instrumental in strategically planning and optimizing the flow of materials throughout our North American Assembly Plants. Your core responsibilities encompass providing critical F&T estimates during advanced concept and program development phases as well as spearheading the successful launch of New Model Programs across these facilities.

In this position...

You will partner with diverse multi-functional teams including Packaging Warehouse Logistics and Automation specialists. You will be engaged from the initial product development stages through full production launch. During new model study phases you will lead these teams in crafting comprehensive logistics plans ensuring seamless material flow from receiving docks directly to the point of installation on the assembly line. Youll leverage advanced Virtual Manufacturing tools for early validation of these vital material flow strategies.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Guide the MFE team through prototype builds and production ramp-up at our Assembly Plants. Analyze Manufacturing Production and Logistics (MP&L) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and implement corrective actions that drive business objectives.
  • Hold responsibility for delivering all Material Flow Engineering requirements on-time consistently meeting our stringent Safety Quality Cost and Delivery (SQCD) objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to continuously improve manufacturing productivity and quality.
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies and automation projects.
  • Leverage deep manufacturing and MP&L knowledge to identify potential risks and implement proactive preventive measures.
  • Provide strong team leadership in addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners including Product Development Manufacturing Engineering Purchasing and Assembly Plant teams to ensure lean and cost-effective material flow.
  • Oversee the implementation and effective utilization of our Virtual Manufacturing toolset.
  • Achieve program financial targets related to facility tooling and labor.
  • Lead new model product launches at Assembly Plants overseeing tooling and equipment installations.
  • Travel up to 50% during launch period.


Qualifications

Youll have.

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Material Production and Logistics (MP&L).
  • Strong project management skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept development through manufacturing launch.
  • Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to set long-term goals and effectively implement manufacturing strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control and resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Experience leveraging Virtual Manufacturing tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills effectively reporting out to executive leadership regarding program status milestones
  • A track record of implementing significant cost savings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Flexibility to travel as required for future launch programs.

Even better you may have...

  • Self-Starter with an eye for process waste elimination a go fix it mentality to positively influence change
  • Packaging Engineering and/or Material Logistics previous work experience
  • Proficiency in understanding and developing cycle line layouts for efficient material flow
  • Experience implementing automated manufacturing solutions including automated mobile robots (AMRs) co-bots etc.
  • Experience launching a new automotive programs material flow or related operational execution of new model launches
