Description
Overview:
As a CNA Instructor youll play a vital role in preparing students for their Iowa CNA certification and assisting them in registering for the Iowa State CNA licensing exam. Youll provide classroom instruction clinical rotation oversight develop clinical skills and support learners from diverse backgrounds in building a foundation for success in healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Teach CNA curriculum as outlined in instructional manuals and guides
- Build clinical knowledge and hands-on skills aimed at licensing success
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance and evaluations
- Assess student progress through testing skills checks and observation
- Foster a professional supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students clinical sites and program staff
- Attend relevant meetings and contribute to curriculum development
- Market CNA programs to local employers and assist with workforce development
- Support strategic program planning compliance and community outreach
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least two years of experience including one year in long-term care and has completed the Iowa Train the Trainer program
- Previous experience as a CNA Instructor or educator strongly preferred
- Knowledge of local state and federal regulations related to CNA training programs
- Experience in healthcare education HR laws and administrative practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to confidentiality professionalism and quality instruction
- Ability to work independently travel when needed and meet deadlines
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
