Normal Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Job Summary:The International Services Assistant provides front line first-level of customer service with regard to student and scholar support. Serve as primary point of office contact for technical advising and case assignment to International Student & Scholar Services Team.
Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident in order to serve as an F-1 Designated School Official (DSO) with the Department of Homeland Securitys Student Exchange Visitor Program and as a J-1 Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) with the Department of States Exchange Visitor Program.
Skills and Knowledge:Ability to proficiently use University of Alabama and Department of Homeland Security data systems (SEVIS ISSM and Banner). Understanding of communication proficiencies with a high degree of sensitivity. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work independently on projects as needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience studying abroad or in an international services office setting. Experience working with university students.
