Job Description

Associate or Experienced Mechanic Assembler Seal/ Wing Tank Closure (Level B or C) (Variable Shift)

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Associate or Experienced Mechanic Assemblers Seal/ Wing Tank Closure (Level B or C) to support and assist with multiple areas of the production system while working on different airplane programs throughout your career. This position is located in North Charleston South Carolina on a variable shift!

As a Mechanic Assembler- Seal Wing Tank Closure you will work within a manufacturing assembly environment by drawing on knowledge acquired from training and certification classes to complete your daily assigned work. By interpreting drawings and reading/comprehending work instructions you will be responsible for identifying your work (task) location on the airplane/part/tooling and identifying all required hand tools parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.

  • Use a computer in a production environment.

  • Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions drawings and/or specifications.

  • Apply sealant and to surface per specifications.

  • Install various aircraft system components such as panel installs.

  • Appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing.

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders tiger and snorkel lifts).

  • Various tools such as Rivet gun and bucking bar screwdrivers lock bolt puller power screwdriver C-squeeze ratchet wrench nut runner Winslow 90-Degree Power Vane or Quackenbush and various other hand tools.

  • Chemical solvents sealants coatings primers adhesives paints and special finishes.

  • Inspect your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).

  • Use of high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).

  • Climbing/balancing (stairs ladders poles scaffolding inclined surfaces) Crawling Crouching (squatting)

  • Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding other).

  • Reading from a computer screen printed drawings or documents.

  • Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to regulation.

  • Work in confined space and respirator usage.

  • Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds.

  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down head bent back) Handling Kneeling Bending at the waist Reaching (overhead) Rotation of head/neck Standing Twisting at the waist and walking.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston SC (BSC).

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st 2nd or 3rd).

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to qualify and use a respirator.

  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.

  • 1 year experience with aerospace fabrication or manufacturing.

  • 1 year experience with typical hand tools (wrenches screwdrivers sockets ratchets etc.) Use of high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).

  • 1 years ofexperience using software applications for internet navigation email Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1 years ofexperience reading and interpreting drawings specifications material processes schematic and diagrams in aviation.

  • 1 years ofexperience installing various aircraft system components such as tubing valves regulators actuators compressors and ducts in aviation.

Shift:

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation is needed.

Summary pay range (associate): $54000 - $64000

Summary pay range (experienced): $61200 - $64500
