Manager Norwalk Residency Program
Full-time 40 hours
Summary:
The Residency Program Manager is responsible for the operational and financial management of their assigned Graduate Medical Education program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of ACGME accreditation policies and procedures including new program development and accreditation. It will require a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Residency Program Manager will work with the Director Medical Education to assure coordination with Hospital Medical Staff Health System Physician Practices and Hospital Operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Reviews available resources (e.g. Residency Management System) and/or identify new resources needed to support the effective organization communication and reporting of HQ program accreditation data to meet emerging ACGME requirements.
2. Oversees accreditation information updates made by Program Directors and coordinators in the various GME-related national systems (e.g. ADS FREIDA etc.).
3. Serves as liaison with HQ Leadership Quality IS Risk Management and other departments needed for participation ACGME/CLER visits.
4. Works with Program Directors faculty and other stakeholders to identify professional development needs related to accreditation and education core curriculum development and implementation.
5. Oversees and develops core curriculum offerings for GME programs.
6. Works with Program Directors Lead Program Manager faculty and other stakeholders to identify professional development needs related to accreditation and education core curriculum development and implementation.
7 Provides leadership and management including recruitment orientation and on-going support for residency program manager/coordinators.
8. Works with Lead Program Manager to provide opportunities for staff development related to accreditation education and process improvement.
9. Works with Director Medical Education to provide opportunities for staff development related to accreditation education and process improvement.
10 Develops and implements a GME Best Practice resource system for HQ sponsored programs.
11. Actively liaises with the ACGME and other relevant organizations to ensure institutional compliance.
12. Oversees development of new program accreditation review process.
13. Travels to attend and/or present at professional development opportunities.
14 Maintains contemporary professional knowledge and education.
15. Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance
16. Performs other duties as required
Other Information:
Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution required. Masters degree in Business Administration or Education preferred.
Graduate medical education experience at the program or institutional level in an Academic Medical Center or an ACGME accredited training program.

Functional Oversight: Issue identification gap analysis ability to prioritize business needs and execute solutions
Expert knowledge of ACGME accreditation for institutions and programs.
Strong problems solving analysis skills and the ability to develop solutions.
