Direct Hire

Axiom Staffing is currently seeking a 1st & 2nd shift Die Maintenance Technician for a metal stamping company in York PA.


This is a direct hire opportunity.

Full benefits 100% covered for you and your family!


1st M-F 6:50a-3:20pm

2nd M-F 3:30pm-12:00am


Responsibilities:
Perform assembly grooming maintenance and repair of progressive stamping dies. Diagnose and resolve issues with stamping dies and presses to maintain product quality and ensure operator safety. Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Die Maintenance Supervisor or Stamper Products Supervisor.


Duties:

  • Assemble groom maintain and repair tooling in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Remove and install dies from presses including press set-ups and trouble-shooting.
  • Utilize quality assurance practices and metrology equipment to ensure that product conforms to applicable design specifications.
  • Grind tooling and perform alignment check on die to ensure parts conform to design specifications and correct alignment of cutting stations.
  • Store die tooling in an efficient manner as they are received.
  • Consult manager if any tooling may need to be modified from print and record modification.
  • Utilize good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean & safe work area.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Record die maintenance and preventive maintenance in Die Log Book in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year vocational training or 3 years in the field of stamping and die maintenance.
  • Journeyman Certificate
  • Ability to perform basic math functions using whole numbers fractions and decimal including metric /english conversion. A basic understanding of algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules set-up operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment usage such as micrometer caliper and optical comparator.
  • Blue print reading with geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to read die assemblies change-over and detail prints from various sources.
  • Capable of writing routine correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to solve practical and mechanical problems (Mechanical aptitude).
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Must have the ability to successfully complete all training requirements as listed on training matrix for this position.
  • Must be available for scheduled work: normal work day of 8 hours or more as necessary night shift and weekend work is possible.
