Location: Studio on the Common Winchester MA Find out more!Studio on the Common is a woman owned highly respected and established Art Studio in the heart of downtown Winchester. We are looking looking for a dynamic energetic Lead Art Teacher to join our collaborative team! About UsStudio on the Common is a vibrant community art studio in the heart of Winchester offering after-school and summer art programs for kids ages 318 as well as adult classes. Our mission is simple: to make art joyful accessible and social! We work with a variety of materialspainting drawing pottery fiber arts sculptureand encourage experimentation and self-expression in every a small close-knit team that loves what we do and were looking for someone who shares our passion for inspiring young artists and bringing creativity to the community.What Youll Do as Lead Art TeacherPlan and teach fun engaging art classes for elementary-aged students (ages 512) during after-school programs and summer campsHelp young artists build confidence and friendships through creativityWork closely with our Director of Art Education to design hands-on age-appropriate projects using a wide variety of art mediaLead daily classes (up to 20 students) with the support of co-teachers and counselorsCreate a warm inclusive and exciting classroom where every child feels welcomeManage classroom behavior with positivity and structureMaintain a clean colorful and inspiring studio spacePrep and organize materials order supplies and make sure teachers and students have everything they need to thriveSupervise and support studio staff to ensure smooth and safe operationsBe a leader role model and source of encouragement to students and colleagues alike!Who You AreA creative enthusiastic art educator with 2 years of experience teaching kids (especially elementary-aged!)Passionate about art and making it accessible and fun for childrenConfident in leading a classroom and managing student behavior with warmth and positivityOrganized proactive and comfortable juggling lesson planning classroom prep and team coordinationSkilled in a wide range of 2D and 3D art media: painting drawing sculpture fiber arts and moreGreat at communicating with students families and fellow staffComfortable with a flexible fast-paced environment (where sometimes glitter will get everywhere!)CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to get certifiedwell help!)The DetailsPosition: Full-time year-roundSchedule: Weekdays (some weekends and evenings)Location: Winchester MARequired: CORI background checkTraining and curriculum support providedWhy Join Our TeamWork in a joyful creative environment with kids who love to learn and love artBe part of a supportive passionate team of artists and educatorsHelp shape meaningful art experiences that build confidence and creativityLead with heart teach with passion and make a real difference in the lives of young artistsReady to Bring Your Passion to the StudioWed love to meet you!
