FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - July 7 2025MUSIC TeacherThe OpportunitySaint Catherine of Siena School in Norwood is seeking a MUSIC Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The successful candidate will be a kind intelligent organized faith filled professional dedicated MUSIC teacher with a good sense of humor! This is a salaried position. We hope that the educator will be excited to joyfully teach our kind respectful bright students to love Music in an organized respectful rigorous Music classroom. We adored our Music Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. However she is going to be a Missionary Teacher in Belize for the 2025-2026 school year and so we are searching for a new teacher. Thank you for keeping our former Music teacher in your prayers as she uses her many gifts & talents in Belize. The Music Teacher will be responsible to help the students to perform for their families at two concerts each year. One concert will be in December and one in the Spring. At the concert each grade will be expected to sing one song. Additionally the Music teacher would be responsible to teach all of the students 9-12 hymns per year. The Music teacher helps the students to sing the hymns at monthly school masses and also one hymn each day at our Morning Assembly that we call Morning Prayer. Teaching experience and interest in working with a Catholic community of students is a must. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply! The first day of school for the 2025-26 school year is August 27 2025. The last day of school is June 11 2025. The school closes for two weeks at Christmas one week in February and one week in April each year. The school day is from 7:30am to 2:30pm. Faculty Meetings are on Wednesdays from 2:40 to 3:30pm. The MissionAt Saint Catherine of Siena School (SCS) we celebrate the God-given potential and unique talents of every student from Preschool to Grade 8. We do this by helping our students to strive for academic excellence within a faith filled community of learners. We work together with parents as partners within our school family to nurture our students and help them to grow as compassionate confident and courageous young men and women prepared to use their gifts at SCS and in the world to See Christ in Others. Be Christ for SchoolSaint Catherine of Siena School is located in Norwood MA. The school was founded in 1926 by Father James Doherty and was staffed by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph for many years. In the fall of 2025 the school will serve 400 plus students from over 24 plus communities in grades Preschool to Grade 8. Our professional community consists of 30 plus dedicated teachers who are committed to educating students within the guidance of the Catholic faith. Our entire staff including aides and administrative supportive staff is approximately 60 people.
