THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (Triton) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Field Biologistto join a well-established team of environmental professionals.
This role can be based in Fort McMurray Calgary or Edmonton AB. The successful candidate will work as part of a field team reporting to the project office. Transportation will be provided from Calgary Edmonton or Fort McMurray to the work site.
This is a temporary position that is targeted to start right away. The position will end later this fall approximately the end of October 2025. However there is a possibility that fulltime permanent work could be offered either right away or made available after the work term.
Responsibilities will include a variety of tasks including:
- Bird identification;
- Data collection;
- Daily data entry and reporting;
- Manual hazing of birds;
- Deployment and maintenance of bird deterrent infrastructure;
- Assessment of deterrents and recommendations to prevent habituation;
- Wildlife identification; and
- Bird sweeps wildlife hazing and other wildlife programs as required.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Post-secondary education (degree or technical diploma) in biology environmental science or a related discipline
- Ability to work long days in the field and handle physically demanding work
- Demonstrated attention to detail required for data collection and entry
- Experience in bird identification considered an asset
- Positive attitude and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment essential
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence

SCHEDULE
This position will entail working in the field doing shift rotational work.
The schedule is determined by project hiring needs and could be 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off 12hrs daily (overtime will be paid as per AB employment standards).
