Job Description

Job Summary: The primary job duty of the Assistant Manager is to help the store manager with the smooth and profitable operation of the business. The assistant manager should assist the store manager in all aspects related to improving the stores sales and profits by attracting more shoppers providing better customer service and selling more goods. It also includes a well-staffed and well-trained team of employees a clean and well-organized store and high-quality merchandise that is correctly priced and displayed well. The assistant manager should also constantly reinforce the companys standards and objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Interviews hires and trains cashiers leads and other staff as needed.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Assign jobs and projects to staff to ensure that deadlines are met safely and accurately.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Assist the Manager with ADP Payroll.
Assist with issuing attendance points and write-ups for attendance violations.
Prepare the schedule for the store staff. Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist the store manager in realizing or exceeding determined sales plans and target metric objectives.
Ensure consistent execution of the company s marketing and visual presentation.
Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
Train staff on how to drive sales through consistent development of product knowledge and customer service standards.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and report concerns to DM s.
Maintain proper inventory controls and facilitate inventory transactions and bulk count as senior management guides.
Ensure the store is secure at closing by checking if the doors are locked alarms are set and all safes are locked.
Keep daily records of store sales damages deposit log scheduling employee discount and new hire paperwork.
Manage the runners ensuring they meet the standard for rack times and accuracy.
Must be able to assist with all POS issues and procedures.
Must be able to assist with entering the Green Sheet data and filling out all financial forms weekly.
Assist with the product on the sales floor ensuring it is well organized shop able and of the company standards quality.
Ensure all grid walls are switched out every 2-3 days and that display cases are cleaned and maintained.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of Stores procedures and policies.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to keep accurate records.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and software used to maintain inventory.
