Job Description
Location: 30 minutes south of London Ontario
Job Type: Full-time Part-time Locum
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Obstetrician-Gynaecologist to join a collegial team of four generalists in a community hospital setting. The team attends approximately 700 deliveries annually and provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Hospital
The hospital is a Level 2A facility with full paediatric and anaesthesia support. It collaborates closely with local midwives offering consultative services. Candidates may begin in a locum capacity with the option to transition into a permanent position.
The surgical department features state-of-the-art operating rooms (opened in 2018) fully equipped for advanced minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
Position Highlights
- Start date: Immediate
- OR time: 2 days/month
- Home call: One weekday and one weekend per month
- Ambulatory care access: For procedures such as LEEPs
- Academic opportunities: Teaching and mentoring through the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University
Compensation: $325000 $425000/year depending on call schedule (currently 1:3 with higher earning potential).
Candidate Requirements
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
- Interest in minimally invasive gynaecology or urogynecology is considered an asset
