The iconic Beverly Hilton is looking for a Senior Sales Catering and Events Manager to join the Sales Team!
Since 1955 the hotel has hosted memorable moments etched in history from dazzling red-carpet events to celebrity galas and we want you to be a part of the team who combines the excitement and entertainment of Hollywood with the prestige of Beverly Hills.
This Forbes 4-Star hotel has over 500 rooms 60000 square of feet of banquet space and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 restaurants a lounge and in-room dining.

What will I be doing
As a Senior Sales Catering and Events Manager you will serve as the hotels representative in developing new business opportunities across Group Transient and Local Catering segments while nurturing and expanding existing client relationships. Your primary focus will be to drive revenue across rooms event spaces food and beverage and other ancillary services. You will be responsible for securing contracts and when needed coordinating event execution with internal operational teams all with minimal administrative support.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Basic hotel product knowledge i.e. staffing operations safety security union rules structural terminology fire police and health codes hotel policies city ordinances.
Basic knowledge of the hotel structure/layout and how all departments interact.
Basic knowledge of various types of set up styles used in the meeting rooms.
Basic knowledge of audio visual equipment telecom equipment lighting and room temperature control.
Extensive knowledge of market and related industry
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
Quantitative processing of data via office machine equipment mathematical computations and analytical skills necessary to accurately determine and communicate financial forecasting and space utilization calculations.
Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word Excel Outlook Delphi / .fdc (or in house sales system) Market Vision OnQ InFocus Internet and Intranet and meeting space diagram software.
Ability to read write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests memos proposals general correspondence and similar written materials.
Possess a good conceptual understanding of electronic devices and the ability to operate such items as a copy machines slide projectors microphones computers portable radios pagers etc.
Ability to complete a contract in compliance with all checklist standards and hotel policies.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
Minimum of four years of college level courses with an emphasis on business. Bachelors degree in Hotel Management Business Administration Marketing or Communications preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of two years experience in hotel sales. Event management experience preferred.

Salary Range:The annual salary for this role is $91000 to $145000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
