Description

Position Summary: This worker supports the Collection Development Office by receiving and checking in all print periodical subscriptions. This worker also prepares all periodicals to be sent off for binding and receives and processes the bound copies once they are returned to us. Worker shelves periodicals as needed and shifts material when requied.

Essential Functions:

  1. Retrieve mail from mailroom open mail sticker stamp and check in periodicals.
  2. Shelve periodicals on first floor of BL Fisher Library.
  3. Pull loose periodicals for binding enter them in bindery software and load into boxes Reverse process when items are returned from the bindery.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Sorting through donated periodicals to see which ones we need to add to our collection.

Tools & Equipment:

  1. Google Docs and Google Sheets
  2. Worker will be trained on library catalog software

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Training/Experience:

  1. An attitude of service/a servants heart
  2. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities
  4. Ability to work with technology
  5. Ability to work in a changing environment
  6. Able to give attention to detail
  7. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  8. Must maintain confidentiality
