Job Profile Summary
The Cybersecurity MFA Architect plays a key role in leading the architectural design of robust Multi-Factor Authentication systems. This role involves creating and maintaining enterprise-wide security architecture and patterns with a focus on workforce authentication and authorization machine identity management and
This role is responsible for creating robust security architecture repeatable designs across multiple security and technology domains as well as collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the organizations security controls meet industry standards and regulatory requirements while aligning with business goals.
The Cybersecurity MFA Architect works strategically and transparently within the Enterprise Architecture organization as well as their partners in Infrastructure Security and Technology Services and drives security architecture strategy within the business objectives.
Design describe and manage solution engineering in relation to capabilities of assigned Journeys and Platforms through the end-to-end lifecycle (i.e. frontend backend database and debugging of applications or sites).
Use knowledge of business acumen and technical expertise to play a lead role in shaping the technical vision to create complex distributed solutions technical designs and integrations.
CUSTOMER
Design enterprise-grade security architectures and architecture patterns related to employee identity and access management specifically multi-factor authentication.
o Hands-on experience designing or implementing MFA solutions (TOPP hardware tokens biometrics etc.)
o Experience with conditional access adaptive authentication cloud IAM key management certificate-based authentication cryptography.
o Expertise in designing solutions for high-security environments. Prior experience with banking/financial services an asset but not strictly necessary.
Apply a multi-disciplined expertise with database application client tiers layering of software build test and deploy strategies in order to create the overall design of cybersecurity solutions (including packaged applications integrations infrastructure middleware) and guide how the sub-components are developed by different teams
Elevate focus on applications and data as differentiators for the customer experience anchored in sound foundational elements of Infrastructure and Platforms
Advise on suitability of technology stacks to define principles / key constraints for solution components; rallies the team around these principles to determine security / scalability approach and impact assessments for future design
Drive continual upgrading and grounds the team in assessing practical program concerns to innovate on both server-side and user-side features as technologies / platforms expand to reduce technology debt and build resilient solutions
Monitor and report on progress and collaborates broadly with other practitioners including designers engineers and other applicable business stakeholders to ensure the necessary features for the products and applications are developed within assigned portfolio
Supports issue analysis and fix activities during test phases as well as production issue resolution
Collaborates with Practices actively driving capability creation; mentoring and training junior colleagues to be adaptive staying on top of expanding technologies and engineering trends and creating highly visual and functional solutions
Deep understanding of security frameworks (Zero Trust NIST ISO27001) and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. PCI-DSS).
Applies all of the above to the selection and advancement of cybersecurity technologies the development of cybersecurity solution architecture and advising business and technical partners in the Platforms and Journeys on security controls required for their solutions.
SHAREHOLDER
Ability to design MFA solutions that bridge legacy systems with modern authentication technologies while ensuring scalability and resilience and adherence to observability stndards.
Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into actionable plans and solution design and communicate them effectively with stakeholders across all parts of the business.
Lead interaction with governance and control groups (e.g. regulatory / operational risk compliance and audit) to provide subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues related to architectural technology and tools
Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations
Monitor and report on the status of the products / projects and applications within assigned product ensuring projects are compliant with technology domain architecture and designs / operates processes to provide ongoing review of in-progress activity against technology architecture and development standards
Foresee architectural issues / gaps and identifies emerging industry trends to recommend value-added architectural improvements that will alleviate technology debt and build resilient solutions
Maps processes and sub-processes that bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions
Keep track of changes made to code through control systems
Collaborates within practices platforms or journeys comprised of diverse and complementary skills; inspiring the team to embrace changes and continually advance collective knowledge of technical tools / trends
Protect the interests of the organization identify and manage risks and escalate non-standard high risk activities as necessary
Keep abreast of emerging issues trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

BREADTH & DEPTH
Seasoned individual contributor role with expert knowledge of cybersecurity overall and Identity and Access Management in particular and a demonstrated track record working with a broad range of architecture frameworks technology tools processes and procedures
Exceptional collaboration communication and client-facing skills
Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale cybersecurity projects.
Experience/demonstrated history of innovating within high-security environments particularly valuable for this role
Big-picture thinker with ability to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends through both advanced business acumen and highly specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications programming languages industry best practices Bank standards infrastructure and architectural design / solutions
Architect assigned to work autonomously on high profile complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization
Reports to an Architecture Practice Lead / Practice Area Lead
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
10 years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms with recent experience working with cybersecurity solution design deployment or operations.
Experience with Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pair programming and / or Test-Driven Development is an asset (i.e. ability to author Unit Integration and Functional Tests)
Demonstrated experience with leading technical tools integration in a complex environment
Cybersecurity industry certification (e.g. CISSP CCSP CompTIA etc.) not required but considered an asset. Vendor-specific credentials also an asset but not required.
