- Clearance Requirements: Tier 1 Background Investigation National Agency Check with Law and Credit Check and fingerprints. (Standard Form 85).
- Estimated Pay: $86.38/hour (Negotiable)
- Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.

Summary
A Nuclear Pharmacist is a licensed pharmacist with specialized training in the preparation handling and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticalsradioactive drugs used in nuclear medicine imaging and therapy. Working in hospital-based or commercial nuclear pharmacies the nuclear pharmacist ensures the safe accurate and timely delivery of these agents while maintaining strict compliance with radiation safety and regulatory standards.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Completion of an accredited nuclear pharmacy training program or residency
- Licensure as a pharmacist; Board Certification in Nuclear Pharmacy (BCNP) preferred
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety pharmacology and regulatory compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals according to physician orders and safety protocols
- Conduct radiation safety checks and quality control tests on all radioactive materials
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive material receipt storage usage and disposal
- Provide expert consultation to physicians and healthcare professionals on radiopharmaceutical use
- Monitor patient responses and assist in managing adverse reactions
- Educate pharmacy staff and students on nuclear pharmacy practices
- Maintain and calibrate equipment used in radiopharmaceutical preparation
- Ensure compliance with federal state and institutional safety regulations
