Job Description
Job Title: Pharmacist
Specialty: Pharmacy Services
Location: 1300 Hospital Lp Belcourt ND 58316
Site: Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility
Duration: 3 months contract with a possibility of another 3 months extension
Shift Schedule: Full-time; schedule set by facility may include days evenings or weekends to ensure coverage.
License/Certifications:
- Active unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
Minimum Qualification/Experience:
- At least 1 year of recent pharmacist experience (hospital or clinic setting preferred)
- Familiarity with federal and Indian Health Service (IHS) guidelines is desirable
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with provider orders and IHS policies.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use potential side effects and storage instructions.
- Review medication orders for accuracy drug interactions contraindications and allergies.
- Maintain pharmacy records in compliance with state federal and IHS regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure secure handling and storage of controlled substances.
- Provide clinical support in drug utilization review formulary management and patient education.
