Maintenance SpecialistGeneral Description
The Maintenance Specialistis responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a healthcare facility. This position will assist the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor in performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems. This position also involves responding to work orders ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations and supporting the facilitys overall cleanliness and functionality.

Maintenance Specialist Essential Duties
- Ensure all routine custodial and maintenance tasks are completed as assigned.
- Assist custodial/housekeeping staff. Empty all trash receptacles stock paper products clean restroom facilities vacuum sweep mop dust window washing etc.
- General maintenance including changing light bulbs ceiling tiles repair to equipment plumbing issues that may arise painting general carpentry etc.
- Lawn car including mowing and removing debris around the facility.
- Snow removal including shoveling sidewalks and removing snow as necessary.
- Assist team to ensure facility is safe for public and employees.
- Some driving will be required.
- Attend staff meeting as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintenance Specialist Skills Required
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff patients and the public.
- Knowledge and experience with common office technology such as Microsoft Office products printers office phones etc.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks work under pressure and prioritize workload.
- Effective and efficient time management.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgement.
Maintenance Specialist Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED;
- Valid Kansas drivers license;
- Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds frequently and up to 75-100 pounds occasionally.
- Have general knowledge of plumbing electrical and carpentry;
- 1-2 years maintenance/custodial experience;
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee base.
