General summary: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department including recruiting and interviewing candidates administering benefits and leave programs and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role upholds the integrity accuracy and confidentiality of employee information while actively supporting the organizations mission to empower individuals with disabilities or special needs and their families.
Key responsibilities:
Recruits interviews and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental supervisors to understand skills and competencies.
May conduct or coordinates background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Coordinates new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
Represents the organization at job fairs and other recruitment events.
Assists in developing and updating job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational needs.
Assists in creating and reviewing interview questions to promote consistency compliance and effectiveness in candidate evaluation.
Supports ESGWND benefit/wellness program to include eligibility tracking enrollment offboarding and responding to general inquiries.
Assist with FMLA WSI STD and OSHA programs to include documentation tracking and return-to-work coordination; enters related date in applicable systems.
Coordinates unemployment claims and corresponding documentation.
Contributes to the development and periodic review of HR policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with federal state and local employment laws; recommends HR best practices.
Stays current on trends legal updates and emerging technologies in HR talent management and labor laws.
Actively promote and uphold the Mission Vision and Values of ESGWNDadvancing Equality Dignity and Independence for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job criteria: Education & experience Bachelors degree in human resources or related field. Minimum of 2 years related experience required. Minimal travel. Possess a valid drivers license.

Working conditions While performing the duties of this job employees are regularly required to sit for extended periods of time walk and stand; talk both in person and by telephone; use hands and fingers to handle feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close and distant focus.The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
