Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides assessment treatment care and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)

  • Completes documentation that is required to measure monitor and ensure department effectiveness e.g. charting billing IPOC patient/family education. (20%)

  • Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)

  • Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.

  • Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).

  • CPR American Heart Association.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

  • Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.

  • 2 years experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.
