SUMMARY

As a key member of the McNeilus Aftermarket Service Team the Volterra Service Writer Coordinator will support service operations for the groundbreaking McNeilus Volterra North Americas first fully integrated electric refuse collection vehicle (RCV). This role is essential in driving efficiency and customer satisfaction by managing and coordinating service work orders with precision and urgency. The Service Writer Coordinator will conduct thorough technical evaluations and ensure estimates meet both pricing and technical standards. Working closely with the Volterra Service Manager they will coordinate service quotes and repairs maintaining seamless communication between customers field technicians and internal teams. This role acts as a central hub of informationhandling inquiries related to vehicles warranties service reports suppliers scheduling billing shipping and quality assurance. Additionally the coordinator will help identify potential sales opportunities contributing to business growth and customer success.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

  • Prepare invoice distribute and file service work orders ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain fiscal records and reporting related to service work tracking costs and expenditures.
  • Manage subcontractor mechanics in support of service work including scheduling and performance oversight.
  • Coordinate and quote repair and refurbishment projects working closely with service technicians customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate data on parts and quotes; ensure timely communication and updates to service technicians and external customers.
  • Oversee parts accountability and sales related to service work orders including resolution of parts-related questions and shipment tracking.
  • Act as a liaison between the service team and the parts provisioning group supporting efficient parts planning and delivery.
  • Provide input to Inventory Managers regarding service parts needs to support availability and readiness.
  • Deliver technical support to McNeilus Aftermarket personnel engineers subcontractors and customers especially related to Volterra RCV systems and components.
  • Support Parts Coordinators with technical inquiries and troubleshooting for Volterra vehicles.
  • Understand and interpret engineering bills of materials technical drawings and change notices to ensure data accuracy and support service planning.
  • Prepare general service documentation including service reports paperwork and participation in CN review board meetings as needed.
  • Obtain complex part data and technical information from internal sources (engineering purchasing) and external vendors for accurate database updates.
  • Load develop and maintain data in internal databases ensuring accuracy integrity and proper formatting of raw data.
  • Maintain high accuracy rates in numeric data entry and data handling under tight deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects to optimize service processes and support growth.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams customers and subcontractors to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of McNeilus Aftermarket service operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field (equivalent to six (6) years total); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Automotive or mechanical background
  • The ability to work overtime
  • To be on call for service questions or needs from our west coast customers

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have database software knowledge (ie: Excel Access PowerLOG-J)
  • Numeric data entry experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
The following represents general working conditions for this office-based role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

  • This role is primarily performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting ventilation and temperature-controlled settings.
  • Duties are largely sedentary requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone.
  • Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary including walking short distances standing or reaching for files.

Pay Range:

$50400.00 - $77200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
