Job Description
General Counsel
Reporting to the CEO this key role will be part of the management team and lead a small team to:
- Support the Companys business strategy and initiatives
- Review commercial contracts and conduct due diligence on business initiatives
- Ensure the Company is compliant with all laws and regulations affecting their business
- Identify legal risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure that the company complies with its legal and regulatory requirements
- Advise business units on operational legal and compliance matters
- Liaise with regulators and other external parties regarding legal and regulatory matters affecting the business
- Manage the advice sought from external law firms
Requirements:
- You should be a commercially savvy qualified lawyer (common law qualified) with at least 15 years post qualification experience gained in law firms plus in-house
- Minimum 10 years experience in a legal team head function in the telecommunications industry
- Experience in dealing with domestic and international regulatory authorities as well as external law firms from different jurisdictions
- Corporate M&A experience is necessary
- Fluency in English Cantonese and Mandarin is essential
- Annual Leave: 20 days
