Job Description
Our client a major reinsurance firm is currently seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their HK Office.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various teams including structurers marketers client managers underwriters and actuaries in L&H and P&C transactions.
- Provide legal advice and support for complex structures in both LHSS and PCSS deals.
- Review draft and negotiate contracts for reinsurance and retrocession transactions.
- Conduct legal and regulatory due diligence analyse and advise on matters relevant to the firms transactions globally.
- Strengthen knowledge management develop transactional policies templates and best practices.
- Coordinate international legal/regulatory issues adjust the legal framework to meet requirements.
- Support internal projects provide input to senior management and manage outside counsel when needed.
- Conduct internal presentations and trainings on legal topics related to transactions.
- Monitor legal and regulatory trends in relevant business areas.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Preferably worked in a law firm or in-house in the (re)insurance industry.
- Proficient in negotiating writing and working in English and Mandarin;
