Job Description

Our client a major reinsurance firm is currently seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their HK Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various teams including structurers marketers client managers underwriters and actuaries in L&H and P&C transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support for complex structures in both LHSS and PCSS deals.
  • Review draft and negotiate contracts for reinsurance and retrocession transactions.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory due diligence analyse and advise on matters relevant to the firms transactions globally.
  • Strengthen knowledge management develop transactional policies templates and best practices.
  • Coordinate international legal/regulatory issues adjust the legal framework to meet requirements.
  • Support internal projects provide input to senior management and manage outside counsel when needed.
  • Conduct internal presentations and trainings on legal topics related to transactions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory trends in relevant business areas.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Preferably worked in a law firm or in-house in the (re)insurance industry.
  • Proficient in negotiating writing and working in English and Mandarin;
