Our construction services client based in Queens County PEI is in search of a Part-Time Controller with a knack for project finance and accounting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute their expertise on a flexible part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger AP/AR payroll and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly and year-end financial statements
- Manage budgeting forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and government filings (HST payroll remittances etc.)
- Provide financial insights and reporting to support business decisions and growth initiatives
- Maintain internal controls and implement process improvements as needed
- Liaise with external accountants auditors and financial institutions
- Support ownership and management with ad-hoc analysis and strategic planning
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Chartered Professional Accountant CPA designation is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Familiarity with project-based accounting cost management and financial reporting is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with ownership and team members
- Proficiency using Quickbooks Online; experience with BuilderTrend is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with production and finance teams
- Attention to detail with a meticulous approach to financial reporting and accuracy
- Experience working with small or growing businesses is highly valued
- $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
