About NAAFLS

NAAFLS (North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and the only victim-based Aboriginal legal service in the Top End. We provide culturally safe legal assistance and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of domestic family and sexual violence across more than 40 remote communities.

Were entering a new and exciting phase with the recent launch of the Leaving Violence Program (LVP). As our Administration Officer youll play a key role in supporting the LVP Team.

About the role:

The Administration Officer for the Leaving Violence Program at NAAFLS will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the program. This role will involve working closely with client support officers and case workers to deliver culturally safe and holistic services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced domestic family and sexual violence in remote communities in the Top End region of the Northern Territory. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and arrange travel for LVP staff including accommodation travel allowance and related bookings.
  • Oversee and arrange travel and accommodation where required for LVP clients.
  • Arrange and manage relevant permits for staff travelling to communities.
  • Effective and respectful communication with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Issue purchase orders through Xero accounting program as required.
  • Assist HR where required in the maintenance and compliance of certifications records and other tasks.

What Youll Bring

Essential:

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external clients while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Knowledge and experience in administrative procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability using a range of computer programs and databases.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to exercise initiative determine workload priorities and complete tasks within required timeframes.
  • Ability to work proactively without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as a reliable productive and constructive team member.
  • Must obtain a Working With Children Clearance (WWCC) and a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
  • Possess a current C Class NT Drivers Licence.
