What will you do
As a Principal Product Manager - Tech for the Pricing Technology Product Team youll architect next-generation pricing technology systems that power Amazon Shippings growth ambitions. Youll transform pricing frameworks into scalable flexible technology solutions that adapt across global markets with minimal engineering effort. Youll design modular pricing architectures that enable business teams to rapidly configure and deploy new pricing elements to meet evolving customer needs and market demands.
Youll create seamless connections between pricing systems and downstream business processes like billing payment and accounting ensuring end-to-end consistency. Youll build sophisticated data visualization tools that provide unprecedented visibility into our pricing structures across regions and customer segments making complex pricing information accessible and actionable for stakeholders throughout the organization

You are an innovative technical product leader with deep expertise in building scalable flexible systems that power sophisticated business processes. You have a proven track record of transforming complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions that drive significant impact. As this position involves regular interaction with senior leadership (VP) youre comfortable influencing at the highest levels while also providing hands-on guidance to product and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate combines technical depth with business acumen possessing both the architectural vision to reimagine how pricing technology can enable business flexibility and the execution skills to bring those visions to life. Youre a strong owner right a lot and have demonstrated success building products that transform business operations. You excel at identifying opportunities for simplification driving alignment across diverse stakeholders and making principled decisions that optimize for long-term scalability and value creation.
Key job responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Systems Design
Architect a flexible modular pricing technology platform that enables rapid configuration of pricing elements across global regions
Transform rigid backend systems into configurable platforms that reduce time-to-market for new pricing features from months to days
Design systems that connect pricing decisions to downstream systems
Create comprehensive data models and visualization tools that provide visibility into pricing structures across regions
Product Innovation & Delivery
Lead the development of tools that enable business teams to configure and manage pricing elements without custom development
Build systems that accommodate diverse regional pricing models
Create frameworks for testing and validating pricing configurations to ensure accuracy and reliability
Partner with engineering teams to modernize legacy pricing systems while maintaining business continuity
Cross-Functional Influence & Alignment
Collaborate with regional business teams to understand unique market requirements while driving toward global platform standardization
Partner with pricing strategy teams to understand future direction and build systems that anticipate upcoming needs
Influence senior leaders across sales finance operations and engineering to align on technology roadmaps
Serve as the principal technical authority on pricing technology across the organization
Data-Driven Product Development
Collaborate with science and data teams to integrate advanced pricing models into technology platforms
Build technology solutions that connect pricing systems with Amazon Shippings data resources
Develop technology interfaces for decision support systems that visualize pricing scenarios
Create technology capabilities that enable metrics tracking and analytics for pricing performance
Future Vision & Scalability
Define the multi-year technology vision for Amazon Shippings pricing systems
Identify opportunities to leverage marketplace configurations and self-service tools to accelerate business agility
Anticipate future scaling challenges and build systems that can grow with the business
Drive innovation that leverages Amazons unique technical capabilities to create sustainable competitive advantages
- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
- 7 years of end to end product delivery experience
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies business analysis or process improvement
- Bachelors degree in engineering statistics computer science operations research business analytics information systems or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
