What Youll Do:
This hybrid role blends Warehouse Receiving Material Handling and basic inventory tasks to keep our store stocked safe and running smoothly. Youll be part of a tight-knit team behind the scenes making magic happen from dock to shelf.
- Unload delivery trucks using manual or powered equipment.
- Unload incoming shipments of grocery products supplies and materials using pallet jacks forklifts or hand trucks.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments.
- Sort label and stage stock.
- Safely and efficiently move inventory to the appropriate departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving and backroom areas.
- Dispose of packaging and recycle materials as needed.
- Assist other departments with stock replenishment.
- Follow all safety protocols and lift like a pro.
A Day in the Life of a Material Handler:
- First up: The trucks roll in with fresh goods and youre there to greet them like an old friend. With the help of pallet jacks and hand trucks (manual or electric) you unload products like a champ produce dairy dry goods and everything in between.
- Next youre checking labels counting inventory and making sure everything matches the invoice. Youre the eyes and ears of quality and accuracy.
- Then comes the flow You organize stage and transport items from receiving to the sales floor or storage areas.
- Along the way youll clean up spills break down boxes and keep your workspace neat.
- At the end of the shift youve handled thousands of pounds of groceries with precision pride and purpose and maybe even snuck in a few extra steps on your fitness tracker.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Lift carry push and pull items weighing 2550 lbs. sometimes up to 75 lbs. using proper lifting methods.
- Stand and walk on concrete floors for up to 8 hours or longer each shift.
- Frequently bend squat twist reach and kneel while moving and handling stock.
- Use step stools and ladders to reach high shelves; must have good balance.
- Operate pallet jacks hand trucks shrink wrap machines and other basic equipment.
- Work in cold areas like walk-in coolers and freezers and in warm or outdoor delivery zones.
- Be comfortable in moderate noise from equipment and deliveries.
- Handle various packaging materials that may include light dust or allergens.
- Wear provided safety gear such as gloves non-slip shoes and back support as needed.
- Adjust to lighting and temperature changes throughout the day as work conditions shift.
