Job Description

Note:This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our clients Lakewood CO office for the first year. After one year a hybrid remote schedule may be discussed.

Note:The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 2 years of office experience. 1 year of law firm experience is preferred.

Job DescriptionThe Litigation Legal Assistant supports the litigation team and plays a vital role in case preparation client communication and case management.

  • Draft demand letters review client documents and coordinate follow-up
  • Prepare exhibits trial notebooks and discovery materials
  • Review and prepare liens for attorney review
  • E-file pleadings and record documents
  • Download and organize court pleadings
  • Open and close case files electronically
  • Handle communication with clients (written and verbal)
  • Maintain case status reports and calendars
  • Track court deadlines and update task lists
  • Support attorneys with proformas and editing
  • Assist with small claims court filings
  • Manage office scanning copying and mailing

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of office experience. 1 year experience law firm experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Prior experience with case management and billing systems preferred
  • Strong written verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds and file documents overhead
