  • Suffolk County Council - Endeavour House Ipswich IP1 2BX - Hybrid
  • 27711 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available
  • Post 1: Permanent
  • Post 2: Fixed Term or Secondment for up to 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Councils Brokerage Team as a Brokerage Officer working from Endeavour House Ipswich with the requirement to work a minimum of 2 days afrom one of the locality team area offices at either West Suffolk House Bury St Edmunds Riverside Lowestoft Landmark House Ipswich or hospitals.

The Placement and Brokerage Team is likely to go through a period of transition to have a wider function as it becomes a Brokerage Service.

Your role and responsibilities

  • You will work closely with Hospital discharge contract teams social work and HomeFirst to promote timely discharges attend regular meetings and work in the localities with the wider Adult Social Care (ASC) teams to understand and support the local demand.
  • You will be required to travel across Suffolk to support and collaboratively work alongside the Contract and Service Development ASC and Health Teams
  • Manage internal and external customer relationships to ensure effective service delivery attend care capacity meetings review outstanding care requests and understand the reports from ASC business information.

You will need

  • The ability to make and sustain networks with providers other stakeholders especially during change and uncertainty.
  • To take the initiative to learn and use knowledge of new and changing operating systems processes and practices preferably in a care service environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust behaviour to suit new procedures systems or responsibilities and support the team with this change and maintain high service delivery.
  • To be able to demonstrate good IT skills with a view to using various computerised and electronic recording and case management systems.
