Required Education and/or Experience:
Two years of work experience in office administration or program administration;
Notary Public or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of starting employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
A paralegal degree or certificate.
Job Duties:
Plan Outreach Events and Meetings: The Pro Bono Program Manager will plan and implement outreach events across the State of Arkansas to introduce practicing attorneys to the VLSC explain its services and discuss the process through which volunteer attorneys can accept case referrals from the VLSC. This outreach includes developing relationships with law firms corporations government agencies and nonprofit organizations to coordinate the recruitment of volunteer attorneys. The Pro Bono Program Manager will also assist in creating marketing and recruitment materials for the VLSC;
Develop and Conduct Training for Volunteer Attorneys: The Pro Bono Program Manager will assist the VLSC Director in creating and conducting free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) workshops on veterans legal issues. The Pro Bono Program Manager will plan and coordinate the logistics of the workshops and work with the Arkansas Supreme Court Office of Professional Programs to obtain CLE approval for the workshops;
Maintain a Network of Volunteer Attorneys: The Pro Bono Program Manager will maintain the VLSCs database of volunteer attorneys who are willing to accept case referrals from the VLSC. The Pro Bono Program Manager will also respond to volunteers inquiries and requests regarding case referrals;
Conduct Intake and Screen Cases for Placement with Volunteer Attorneys: The Pro Bono Program Manager will review requests for assistance to determine whether cases are appropriate for placement with a volunteer attorney or referral to other resources;
Manage Referrals to Volunteer Attorneys: The Pro Bono Program Manager will manage the process for placing cases with volunteer attorneys refer cases to volunteer attorneys and maintain regular contact with volunteer attorneys regarding the status of cases placed with them;
Work with Community Stakeholders: The Pro Bono Program Manager will meet with other organizations that work with the veterans community in order to coordinate services explore opportunities for collaboration and leverage resources;
Manage Program Finances: The Pro Bono Program Manager will work with the VLSC Director to create an annual budget for the Pro Bono Program track Program expenses and prepare any necessary budget reports for the Program;
Provide Educational Outreach to Veterans: The Pro Bono Program Manager will provide educational programming to the veterans community about the VLSCs services as well as their rights as veterans;
Provide Other Assistance: The Pro Bono Program Director will assist the Director of the VLSC with other projects as requested;
Attend applicable trainings and conferences to improve knowledge and job performance.

Ability to work well with attorneys military veterans community stakeholders pro bono partners university administrators and the public;
Familiarity with the local legal community;
