Under the direction of the Nursing Director the Infusion RN is to provide clinical care with a primary focus on medical infusion.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides safe efficient and compassionate patient care to all medical infusion patients
- Develop an ongoing implementation of therapy plan education and counseling of patients and loved ones
- Practice according to ANA and INS standards of care
- Attends and participates in team meetings
- Documents relevant patient information and current plan in EMR
- Performs a nursing assessment and formulates an individual plan of care for assigned patients
- Prioritize and initiate specific nursing interventions based on ongoing assessment and update the care plan as needed
- Performs technical skills (i.e. VAD access venipuncture) accurately per policy - Participates and collaborates with nursing colleagues and other providers to deliver patient care in a timely manner
