Commercial Business Developer
Job Description Summary:
At GEICO our associates are the heart of the company. Were looking for Business Developers in our Tampa FL office who are driven solution-oriented and ready to take our business-to-business agency sales team to the next level.
As a Business Developer you will deliver strategic sales initiatives with a defined territory of agencies and build their book of GEICO business through approved underwriting practices. Business Developers will use their strong ability to influence along with analytical and decision-making skills to provide guidance and support that promotes preference for GEICO products and services. This role acts as a subject matter expert of product lines and systems to provide recommendations that improve customer experience sales closure and retention with new and existing customers in the business-to-business space. Business Developers help their agencies achieve sales targets through actionable goal setting and understanding of their business needs.

Location:
- 5 days onsite
- This position requires the individual to work full-time onsite in the Tampa FL office.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2 years sales/consulting experience (business-to-business sales a plus)
- Must have prior experience with commercial insurance OR relevant commercial auto and trucking industry experience
- Highly effective oral and written communicator must be comfortable presenting persuading and networking through multiple channels (in-person virtually over the phone etc.)
- Ability to work individually and as a team collaborator with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience interpreting and analyzing data to make informed decisions that support growth initiatives
- Knowledge of industry changes technology and desire for continued learning
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
- A bachelors degree
- Prior experience working with Independent Insurance Agents
- Prior experience with caseload management and customer follow-up
- Prior experience working with different lines of insurance a plus (P&C Commercial Life/Health)
- Prior experience working with independent insurance agents
Location:
