Position Summary:
Job Description:
Audio-Visual Technician
Position: This position is primarily responsible for providing front-line support for Audio/Visual (AV) across campus. This includes AV work requests conference room systems classroom systems event support (during and outside of regular office hours) and performing routine quality control and preventative maintenance tasks. Position assists with technology upgrades repair and troubleshooting under the direction of the Campus AV Manager. This is an in-person on campus position only.
Responsibilities:
Regular responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Troubleshoot and provide support for AV issues in classrooms offices event spaces meeting rooms etc. for faculty staff and students.
Perform preventative maintenance and report/log conditions of classroom event space office and conference room AV Technologies.
Provide AV support for events and classes as needed. Some after-hours and weekend hours are .
Assist with the design and deployment of new AV systems.
Engage in and maintain a continuous path of AV knowledge advancement. Examples include industry specific certifications formal training (online or in person) seminars events shows etc. within the scope of this job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Two years of general A/V experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in technical field
Certifications for Crestron Extron Avixa Certifications Biamp QSC Shure etc.
Skills with cabling (Ethernet Audio RS-232 Cresnet etc.) basic networking
Prior experience in higher education
Experience supporting live events.
Compensation: Hourly wage of $21.50 to $22.12 (equivalent to $44720 - $46009 annually) with benefits. This position is not FLSA exempt and is eligible for overtime.
