The Role
Were looking for a sharp self-motivated problem-solvingMachine Learning Engineerto join our team.
As a Machine Learning Engineer youll be part of a rapidly growing team that is integral to improving our business processes and enabling other teams in the work they do.
You will design build and deploy smart scalable ML solutions that enhance our product and power better decision-making. Youll own the full pipeline from data prep and model training to evaluation and deployment. Youll collaborate closely with a variety of teams including engineers infrastructure data scientists and business stakeholders to ensure AI/ML solutions are thoughtfully integrated into our tech ecosystem.
In this role youll help ensure models are reliable efficient and ethically sound while maintaining documentation and performance monitoring. Your work will be critical to driving scalable real-time decision automation. Youll alsoserve as the go-to resource for stakeholders helping them understand whats possible with AI/ML at CompanyCam and how it can support our broader goals. Our engineering team is remote-first spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really dont care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that youre not an a**hole and youre good at what you do.
At CompanyCam were driven to produce work with meaningful outcomes. That means not just dumping features and improvements but being able to reflect and learn from our outputs. Were actively working to center our work on continuous discovery habits (CDH) as outlined by Teresa Torres.
Okay thats how we identify work to do but how do we actually work We take a flexible approach pulling from Agile Sprints Kanban and even Shape Up. Rather than being overly prescriptive we provide guardrails and just enough constraints to keep teams moving. Each team is expected to collaborate iterate and refine their best practices to produce high-quality work.
Our teams are made up of a product manager a product designer a QA engineer a senior developer and an appropriate number of engineers for the scope of your team. We also believe in intentional downtime. After delivering projects we carve out explicit time for teams to recoup explore self-directed work and focus on what matters to themwhether thats learning new skills tackling pet projects or finally fixing that bug thats been nagging you.
We protect our engineers time treat them like adults and trust them to get their work done. Were also big on not overworking people. Put in your eight hours of focused quality work and then TURN. SLACK. OFF.No nights and weekends.
What We Ask Of You
These are our non-negotiables:

- Do good: Treat your teammates and customers the way youd want to be treated
- 1-5 years of experience in machine learning data science backend engineering adjacent to machine learning or a related field
- Strong coding skills in Pythonand experience with ML libraries (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-learn)
- Proficient in SQL including joins subqueries window functions and CTEs
- Skilled in data cleaning transformation and feature engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on data-driven decisions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills (clearly being able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders) withopenness to feedback and diverse perspectives
- You live and work permanently in the U.S. (Were not set up to hire outside the U.S.)
Nice-to-haves:
- Googles Professional Machine Learning Engineer and/or Microsofts Azure Data Scientist certificate
- Experience with DE tooling such as DVC 5tran Snowflake etc.
- Familiarity with Rails React and/or React Native or AWS
Benefits & Compensation
This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our salary range is$210000 - $240000per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and otherbenefits.
