The Opportunity:

We are seeking a full-time permanent Research Unit Coordinator for RES921 Unit the thesis component of the Master of Research (MRes) course at HELI based at our Melbourne Campus. This is an exceptional opportunity for an academic with experience in higher education research student supervision and program coordination.

The role involves contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality research training and supervision to postgraduate students as well as supporting the academic integrity and feasibility of research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the RES921 research unit for Master of Research students.
  • Liaise between students and supervisors to support academic progress.
  • Supervise a portion of MRes students as assigned.
  • Evaluate and ensure that student projects meet academic ethical and feasibility standards.
  • Contribute to administrative and reporting responsibilities including liaising with the Course Coordinator and Dean of Research and Scholarship.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and research activities.

Essential Criteria:

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant field.
  • A strong research profile with peer-reviewed publications.
  • A demonstrated experience of research leadership.
  • Higher education teaching and supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Canvas.
  • A collaborative and self-driven academic mindset.
