Position at Norwalk Hospital Association

Title: Cardiovascular Technologist - Norwalk Non-Invasive Cardio Lab - Norwalk CT. Per Diem - Variable 8 hour shifts Tuesday/Thursday - 7:00am - 3:30pm and Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 7:00am - 5:30pm . After hours weekends and holidays on-call

Summary:Provides radiologic care to patients undergoing invasive procedures to diagnose and/or treat anatomical physiological disorders. Responsible for radiologic supervision during procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides assistance during procedures by scrubbing and utilizing sterile techniques in the performance of invasive procedures. Prepares surgical trays/tables and materials for procedures.

2. Prepares cath lab prior to invasive procedures. Calibrates and performs daily QA checks on radiographic hemodynamic and other equipment used for each procedure.

3. Prepares and positions patient connecting all monitoring devices performs EKG preps access site and assists in patient care. Provides dataCross training to monitor procedures.

4. Performs radiographic imaging as directed by the performing physician and performs post processing of images.

5. Assists physician with arterial closure devices . Competent in sheath removal obtaining hemostasis and use of compressive devices.

6. Acts as a resource to other team members in the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment instruments and supplies.

7. Participates in inventory management cath lab quality improvements data collection for Registries transporting patients evaluating new products and equipment and preparing monthly schedule including on call schedule.

8. Responsible for on call coverage for urgent/emergency procedures including diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Other Information Required:

  • Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current Connecticut Licensure in Radiologic Technology.
  • Responsible to maintain CE credits for ARRT and Connecticut License.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS preferred.

Salary Range: $33.66 - $67.05 Hourly
