Description

Note: This position involves safety-sensitive job duties under Bixby Telephone Companys Alcohol & Drug-Free Workplace Policy Policy #514 (Revision Date:).


I. POSITION SUMMARY:

The MSP Tier 3 Tech is responsible for the design deployment maintenance and troubleshooting of customers infrastructure. The MSP Tier 3 Tech will need to demonstrate technical competency deploying mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability performance and security. The MSP Tier 3 Tech will also provide input for improving our network and systems offerings to our customers.


II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Manage and monitor all installed customer network and systems infrastructure

B. Install configure test and maintain server/PC operating systems application software and system management tools

C. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

D. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks identify possible solutions and work with MSP staff to implement those fixes

E. Maintain security backup and redundancy strategies

F. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

G. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

H. Provide 2nd and 3rd Tier support as an escalation point

I. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

J. Provide emergency support in critical down situations.

K. Performs On-Call duties when scheduled.

L. Training Tier 1 and Tier 2 Techs as needed.

M. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

III. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

The required specifications (education experience and skills) are those that the employee must have to hold the position. 1. Required Education and Experience:

A. High school diploma or equivalent

B. 4 years experience with PC mobile device and small network installation troubleshooting and repair.



2. Required Skills & Experience

A. A minimum of 4-5 years experience working in a technology/IT-related field

B. Microsoft Windows ServerActive Directory and Microsoft Exchange

C. Virtualization: VMware Hyper-V

D. Router/firewall configuration and management Fortigate preferred

E. Microsoft Windows 7 8 10 and 11

F. Microsoft Office& Office DNS DHCP and Domain Controllers

H. Wireless Network Configuration & Troubleshooting Meraki preferred

I. Printer/Scanner Setup & Configuration

J. Expertise in Fortinet Meraki and Unifi Equipment

K. Experience with Cloud Computing solutions

L. Solid scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts Perl Ruby Python)

M. Past experience working for an IT consulting or computer services company



3. Desired Education or Experience:

A. Working experience in installing configuring and troubleshooting UNIX Linux and Windows Server environments

B. Experience with monitoring systems

C. Experience with automation software

D. Microsoft/Apple/CompTIA certifications (A N Security MCP ACP)



4. Desired Skills:

A. Aptitude for learning new material quickly.

B. Able to take the initiative and to work with or without regular supervision.

C. Process documentation and flowchart skills.



IV. Physical Requirements:

Seeing - Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use computer: 75-100%

Hearing - Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and business contacts: 75-100%

Standing/Walking - Must be able to move about the work site: 25-49%

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 25-49%

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing - Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.: 25-49%

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling - Must be able to write type and use phone system: 75-100%



V. Must maintain valid Oklahoma drivers license. Must participate in on-call rotation with other department members. Must be able to switch between tasks frequently. Must be able to work under pressure and work professionally with users who may be difficult.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
