Position Summary:
Yokogawa is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact engineering team in support of manufacturing operations. This role will oversee a team of Engineering Managers who are responsible for front-line engineering support across a manufacturing organization. The Senior Engineering Manager will directly lead a group of 30 engineers and technical staff and will play a critical role in driving operational excellence technical capability and cross-functional collaboration to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership direction and mentorship to Engineering Managers and their respective teams.
Oversee engineering support for daily manufacturing operations including process optimization troubleshooting quality improvements and equipment reliability.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Quality Supply Chain Sales and Product Development teams to ensure alignment on priorities and seamless execution.
Drive continuous improvement and NYPS initiatives that enhance safety productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering function; ensure accountability across the team.
Support capacity planning headcount strategy and technical resource allocation to meet short- and long-term manufacturing objectives.
Foster a culture of technical rigor operational ownership and innovation within the engineering team.
Lead and participate in strategic initiatives such as technology upgrades facility expansions and process automation.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards internal policies and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or related field); Masters degree preferred.
10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations engineering with at least 35 years in an engineering leadership role.
Proven experience managing other managers and leading large cross-functional teams.
Strong background in lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical depth and strategic perspective.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and coach high-performing teams.
Experience working in a fast-paced high-mix or regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
