Duty Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (possible late hours & weekend)
Summary/Objective of Position:
The position is responsible for planning coordinating and organizing a variety of Learning Center services and activities to assist students and advance their educational goals. Position also serves as support services to student success initiatives such as student orientation tutoring services academic workshops etc.
Description of Essential Functions of the Position

- Provides information to students about the Learning Center services; assists with scanning documents printing scheduling tutoring and study group sessions; coordinates use of computer labs with students staff and faculty; assists students with library services; assists faculty with test proctoring.
- Works closely with Tsaile Learning Center to ensure the quality of student services.
- Collaborates with other centers to partner and facilitate student learning opportunities.
- Coordinates with IT to test adjust maintain and troubleshoot; maintains the computer lab in a safe clean and orderly condition.
- Provide training to students on how to navigate the DC Portal (warrior web canvas online distance learning participation Zoom MS Teams i.e.).
- Coordinates with the first-year coordinator and orientation staff to schedule student orientations for new students.
- Coordinates with student service programs to schedule or conduct regular academic workshops targeting academic skill building time management study skills and financial literacy.
- Assist students with their scholarship application (Navajo Nation Scholarship FAFSA private scholarships etc.).
- Assist with supervising part-time college student workers (Federal Work Study Tutors Workforce Development or TANF participants Chapter House employment programs etc.).
- Assist with community outreach activities; network with other Colleges/Universities tribal entities (tribal departments) and state organizations to coordinate activities for students (Career Fair Transfer Day local K-12 schools classroom visits booth setup etc.).
- Collects and compiles data for institutional statistical reports (sign-in sheets computer lab sign-in tutoring services activities/event sign-in or grant-related data reporting)
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students staff and faculty per FERPA and College personnel policies.
- Attend workshops seminars or conferences about student services academic services or career development services (Student safety campus safety CPR first aid etc.).
- Assist with promoting Dine College and serve on the committee.
- Assist with student organization activities.
- Assist with keeping work workplace safe.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
- Forty-eight (48) or more college credits towards a degree or College Certificate from an accredited institution.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Experience in tutoring and working with Native American students.
Preferred:
- Associate/Bachelors Degree in Education Psychology Social Work or closely related fields.
- 2-3 years of experience working in a college setting.
- Experience in participating in community outreach activities.
Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable about FERPA policies to demonstrate student confidentiality.
- Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Software and student information systems (i.e. J1).
- Knowledgeable in using basic office equipment (i.e. desktop computers Xerox machines etc.).
- Knowledgeable in College academic policies and procedures in assisting students.
- Knowledgeable of career services for students (resume writing etc.).
- Knowledgeable in data collection analyzing it and reporting it.
Skills:
- Gather and self-initiate ideas. Self-motivated and work under pressure.

- Demonstrate sensitivity to students needs; ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions.
- Good planning organizational and administrative skills; pay attention to details; and exemplify strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates good marketing skills (visual aids such as flyers brochures etc. and knowledge of social media platforms).
- Adaptable and flexible in multiple situations and schedules.
Abilities:
- Ability to identify students needs for support services to make referrals.
- Ability to conduct presentations and provide information & services on short notice.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students staff and faculty.
- Ability to make effective decisions and willingness to adjust to changing situations.
Physical Requirements Work Environment & Travel:
- The position will require average agility and good physical condition.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Travel to other Dine College sites may be required for training or meetings when necessary.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours i.e. evening or weekend hours when necessary.
Other Requirement(s):
- A valid state-issued drivers license is required.
- Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable but not required.
